True to the phrase ‘out with the old and in with the new’, Benjamin Moore has selected an on-trend color of the year for 2017 that could not have been any more different from 2016’s if it tried. If you remember our post from last year, the company had chosen a timeless white, Simply White, as the color of the year 2016.

Last Year's Benjamin Moore Color of The Year - Simply White

This year home decor trends are going towards beautiful rich colors and what better choice to represent this trend than Benjamin Moore’s Shadow. What we especially love about this color is how different light settings bring out Shadow’s various hues, ranging from deep amethyst to almost gray. Benjamin Moore’s creative director Ellen O’Neill swoons:

“It ebbs and flows with its surroundings, and light brings it to life. Rich, royal amethyst can fade into the soft lilac-grey of distant mountains or morph into lustrous coal. Indulge your mysterious side. Let Shadow set the mood.”

Shadow makes a grand statement in any prominent room of your house, be it the foyer or dining room. We love it paired with the gorgeous wood of this staircase:

Benjamin Moore also features an entire palette of coordinating hues that should pop-up in design publications, on Pinterest and everywhere you see trending interior paint colors. The colors range from rich and lustrous shades like Dark Burgundy and Gentleman’s Gray to paler shades like Porcelain and Ice Berg.
