With all the gun conversation of late, I decided to look for an alternative method of home protection.  I considered a simple stun gun… nice, but you have to make physical contact with the person or persons. I then checked out pepper sprays, but they seemed to only have a 10 foot range and you have to have the right grip to hit the “trigger” in just the correct way. Not bad, but still not what I was looking for.

Finally, I found the Mace Pepper Spray Gun. You hold it like a gun, it has a safety and you pull a gun-like trigger. MOST importantly, it shoots at least a 20 foot stream. Now, that’s what I’m talking about! My theory is if someone comes in my home, I’ll blast ’em with the Mace Pepper Gun, then stun them with a stun gun while they’re suffering the effects of the pepper spray.

Also, perfect for jogging and walking the dog. When I walk my dog at night, this little gun gives me great comfort. There’s also an LED light that comes on when you pull the trigger halfway – perfect for picking up after Fido in the dark. The Mace Gun comes with a water cartridge for practicing. You can get about 7 short bursts out of a cartridge. In my own tests, as well as others who have tested the gun, I got about a 25 foot stream. Scour YouTube and you’ll find lots of people testing out their Mace Guns.
