With the holiday season almost upon us, we thought we’d showcase one of our really nifty 100% USA made products from Blackhawk Hardware: The VinniBag. This protective bag is perfect for bringing a bottle of local wine when you fly out to see your relatives in let’s say Ohio or Upstate New York (shout-out to all local Charlotteans!) at Thanksgiving. North Carolina muscadine wine anyone?! The VinniBag is also excellent when you find yourself on vacation and really want to bring back a local bottle of vino or beer to later enjoy at home. And when I say enjoy at home, I don’t mean enjoy wine all over your clothes after its bottle broke in your suitcase but rather in a glass properly decanted.
I tested out the air-bag (hehe) on a recent trip to Napa and it worked like a charm. Seeing the baggage handlers toss around suitcases always makes me cringe and so I was a little nervous about having glass in my checked bag. Needless to say, I was relieved to open my suitcase in Charlotte to find the VinniBag had protected the wine bottle really well during transport. Hoorah!
How does the VinniBag work?
You start out by inserting the bottle into the pouch and then begin inflating it until the bottle (or other fragile item) is stable. Now remove excess air from the inside chamber by squeezing the bag. Next, you’ll want to seal the bag’s bottom part. Easy enough, just pull on the indicated arrows and flatten the seal. To ensure the air is trapped and makes a nice cushion for your wine bottle, the bottom part is then rolled up. And since we have a passion for great product design at Blackhawk, the bag makes sure to fall into that category by coming with a strap and buckle to secure the package. Voila!
I am definitely a fan and would recommend picking up a VinniBag from Blackhawk to anyone who would like to bring a bottle in their checked luggage. Cheers!
