A wise man once said that Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend…

We are a “busy” people; hustling and bustling to and fro, cellphone ever in-hand, commitments here and there, calendars, schedules, home repairs, car maintenance, errands galore. We try to squeeze some quality time in when possible with our loved ones, but it’s tough to do without distraction.

My father doesn’t live in Charlotte – he’s on the other side of the U.S. of A. If I think about what he would MOST want this Father’s Day, it would be my TIME. He’d like us to spend time together, just bopping around, going into shops, getting something to eat, maybe catch a movie.  This is what he would truly want. I’d wager it’s what most fathers want. Our time.

If you are lucky enough to live near your dad, don’t just drop off gift and skedaddle. Spend some TIME with him.  Have him tell you a story or two.  Ask his advice.  Relax and be a kid again. Forget the clock, forget the phone, forget the calendar, at least for this moment in time.  That would be Great Gift Option #1.

If you’re not near Dad, Blackhawk might be his kind of store.  We do have unique gifts, Father’s Day cards and a UPS shipping counter where you send him a Father’s Day Care Package.  Second to having you there, this makes a wonderful Option #2.  Even if it doesn’t arrive by Father’s Day, a phone call letting him know a Care Package is coming will be meaningful because YOU took the time to pick it out yourself.

To all the dads out there, Happy Father’s Day. We love and honor you.
