Time to fire up the grill! This cedar plank grilled salmon was out of this world! I ( Trish) am not a seafood lover; a fishing experience at a young age using live shrimp made sure of that! I decided to be open-minded and give it a try. Wow, have I been missing out, salmon is like the steak of the sea! The cedar smoke from the grilling plank along with the lemon pepper, gave it a great flavor.
What You Will Need
- 1 – 2 to 3 lb. Salmon Steak
- Lemon Pepper Marinade
- Cedar Grilling Plank
Place the salmon steak in a shallow pan and pour the lemon pepper marinade all over it, cover and let rest for at least an hour.
Soak your cedar grilling plank in water for at least 30 minuets. You may need to weigh it down to keep it submerged.
Now it’s time to crank up the Big Green Egg to 350 – 400 degrees. Place the cedar plank in the grill for about 5 minuets, until it starts to smoke a little bit. Place the salmon directly on the heated plank.
Grill the salmon for about 15 minuets, until you reach an internal temperature of 130 degrees. A flaky consistency is what you are shooting for.
We served the salmon steak with rice, the presentation and taste were amazing.
Let us know how your’s turned out. We love to hear from you. Enjoy!
