I have this funky shaped closet under my stairs. It multitasks as a coat closet, storage and a media shelf. It’s a great closet and has served me well for the last several years, except for one small thing… I can’t see anything. Many’s the time I’ve reached in to grab a certain coat and pulled out something entirely different or the neighboring coats fell to the ground as I fumbled around.

How about one of those little sticky LED light things that you simple press on the wall? Well, that wouldn’t work because of the odd angle of my closet – I still wouldn’t be able to see in the far, slanted corner.
Then it hit me. I work at a dadgum hardware store! I’ll ask the fellas in general hardware. They’ve seen it all and would surely have a suggestion. Mike Monroe, the department manager, showed me the various battery-operated options. Then he suggested something a little unconventional… a wireless LED, motion activated porch light!

Easy to install, just add 3 “C” batteries and mount it with 2 screws. Tilt the light to the angle you want and voilà! Nice, bright light that reaches into all the nooks and crannies PLUS it pops on every time I open the door, and shuts off when I’m done. I’m so pleased with my new closet light and with Mike’s fantastic solution. This past weekend, I as able get my closet completely cleaned out and organized. It’s such a treat to go into the closet now. An added bonus with this light is it’s much easier to locate my cat, Tommy, when he sneaks in.
